DAVID A. MAWHINNEY is the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the central and western divisions of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts. He began his career clerking for the Hon. Frank J. Bailey of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts. He was an associate in the restructuring and insolvency group at K&L Gates LLP in Boston and the bankruptcy, restructuring and workout group at Bowditch & Dewey LLP in Framingham. He is currently a member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and the Boston and Worcester County Bar Associations. Mr. Mawhinney is proud to count himself among the ABI’s “Top 40 Under 40” for 2019, and as part of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges 2018 Next Generation Program. He has previously served as a Subchapter V Trustee for Region One and as a Board Member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He is a graduate of Boston College and Boston College Law School.
